Black Suede · Two Outsoles
WL-EG8 is a black suede pull-on model with two outsole configurations: a standard custom rubber lug sole or an upgraded Vibram 700. Taiwan TYCHE calfskin, a 28 cm shaft, 5 cm heel and Goodyear welt create the tall profile. Styling is moto-inspired; the boot is not certified riding protection.
A 28 cm shaft, twin buckle straps, round toe, and 5 cm stacked heel — the engineer boot shape riders have worn since the 1930s.
Taiwan TYCHE® full-grain suede calfskin gives a deep matte nap that resists scuffing and softens as the boots break in.
Standard Custom Rubber Lug Sole, or upgrade to the Italy VIBRAM® 700 Rubber Sole for a heavier tread and longer wear.
Traditional welt construction adds structure, durability, and future resoling potential.

Engineer boots with sole options let the buyer choose traction and visual weight without changing the upper. These black suede pull-on boots work with cuffed denim, leather jackets and heavier winter layers; beige and brown colorways soften the same tall profile.

Leather jacket, dark denim, black boots — the combination the engineer boot was built for.
The beige and red colorways take the same tall silhouette into daytime winter outfits.
Why This Boot Works
A motorcycle-inspired engineer boot made for raw denim, leather outerwear, and heavier winter layers.
The tall shaft and two buckle straps hold the boot close through the calf — the detail that defines a rider's engineer boot.
Full-grain suede calfskin from a Taiwanese tannery founded in 1973, with a fine, dense nap that ages without cracking.
Standard Custom Rubber Lug Sole for everyday wear, or the Italy VIBRAM® 700 Rubber Sole upgrade for heavier tread and grip.
Goodyear welt construction supports long-term structure, durability, and future resoling potential.
Three colorways on the same last — black for full moto styling, beige and brown for lighter daytime outfits.
The 5 cm heel gives the boot a defined rider's stance and keeps the shaft standing tall instead of collapsing at the ankle.
Materials & Components
A component-by-component view of the upper, outsole, insole, footbed, lining, shaping materials, stitching and welt construction used in this model.
TYCHE® was founded in 1973 and is a leading Taiwanese tannery, supplying hides to well over a hundred brands including a number of major footwear makers. The full-grain suede calfskin used here has a fine, dense nap that holds its depth of color and softens rather than cracks as the boots break in. Origin: Taiwan.
The standard outsole is a custom rubber lug sole produced with a dedicated rubber factory. It gives the boot a moderate lug tread for everyday traction while keeping the profile close to the classic engineer boot outline.
Vibram was founded in 1937 and is known for high-performance rubber compounds. The VIBRAM® 700 outsole is offered as an upgrade for a heavier, deeper tread and longer wear on rough surfaces. Origin: Italy.
Conceria 3S SELI was founded in 1929 and still tans with traditional Tuscan methods using chestnut, mimosa and oak bark. The natural vegetable tanned cowhide insole is topped with a 2 mm Italian vegetable tanned leather half footbed — breathable, skin-friendly, and quick to take the shape of the foot. Origin: Tuscany, Italy.
The interior is lined in full-grain calfskin, chosen for a soft, fine-textured surface against the foot. Compared with many standard lining materials, calfskin holds up better to the repeated friction of pulling a tall boot on and off.
RHENOFLEX was founded in Germany in 1952 and is a well-known supplier of shoe reinforcement materials. The 3155/3175 stiffeners shape and support the forefoot and heel, which matters more on a tall boot where the shaft has to stand on its own. Origin: Germany.
COATS was founded in the UK in 1755 and brings more than two centuries of thread manufacturing to specialist sewing. The Brio™ Series thread is made for professional leather work and supports clean stitching and long-term seam strength. Origin: United Kingdom.
Goodyear welt construction creates a durable connection between the upper and the sole, giving the boots structure, long-term strength, and future resoling potential. It is a traditional method with close to two centuries of use in handmade bootmaking.
Leather & Details
Calfskin has a compact fibre structure that supports a fine, dense suede nap. Directional brushing changes how the black surface reflects light, while flex areas may gradually smooth and develop a subtle sheen with wear.
An instep strap and an upper-shaft strap define the tall pull-on profile. The buckle adjustment shapes the opening and instep area while preserving the engineer boot’s lace-free construction.
The layered Goodyear welt construction is paired with either the standard brown rubber outsole or the optional Italy VIBRAM® 700 outsole. Future resoling depends on the condition of the welt and assessment by a qualified cobbler.
Fit & Sizing
Boot 35 = sneaker 36, boot 36 = sneaker 37, boot 37 = sneaker 38, and the same one-size offset holds all the way to boot 44 = sneaker 45. Order one size below your sneaker size.
A 28 cm shaft has to clear the instep on the way in, so the entry can feel firm at first. It should grip the foot and instep securely without pinching once the boot is on.
After purchase, we may confirm foot length, selected size, sole choice, stock, production details, and delivery timeline by email before production begins.

The Story
Use Case Gallery
Leather jacket, dark denim, and black suede form the most direct expression of this engineer-boot silhouette.
Cuff the denim just above the ankle buckle so the strap and welt stack both remain visible.
The lighter colorways soften the tall engineer-boot silhouette and pair naturally with canvas, wool, and mid-tone denim.
The Italy VIBRAM® 700 upgrade adds a deeper tread and heavier stance for layered winter outfits and dry, uneven everyday ground.
Care & FAQ
Use a suede or crepe brush to lift the nap and clear dust after wear. Never use wax or cream polish — it flattens the nap and darkens the surface permanently.
Work light scuffs out with a suede eraser or a dry brush. For oily marks, blot first and let the spot dry fully before brushing the nap back up.
A suede protector spray applied before first wear, and refreshed periodically, helps the nap shed water and resist salt staining in winter.
A 28 cm shaft will fold at the ankle if left lying down. Store the boots standing, ideally with boot shapers, so the shaft keeps its line.
