WL-EG15 combines a 25 cm shaft, low 3.5 cm heel and slim Vibram 705 sole for a reduced profile under trousers. The upper is 2.0–2.2 mm de-waxed French HAAS calfskin, with Goodyear welt construction and regular or custom length sizing from EU 35 through EU 47.
Four centimetres shorter and one and a half lower than our tall engineer boots. That difference is what lets a trouser leg fall over it cleanly.
Surface wax removed, so colour reads clear and the grain stays legible. 2.0–2.2 mm, against a normal calfskin range of 1.0–1.4 mm.
Forepart-and-heel rubber rather than a full lug block — everyday grip with a slim sole edge that suits the proportions above it.
Stitched, not glued — the outsole can be replaced without disturbing the upper.

25 cm against 28–29 cm on the rest of the range. On most legs that is the difference between the boot showing and the boot disappearing under a hem.
Low enough that your stance and stride do not change. A 5 cm stacked heel announces itself; this one does not.
The TYGUM 705 puts rubber at forepart and heel rather than running a full lug block, so the welt edge stays narrow and in proportion.
No wax veil over the surface: black reads properly black, the browns gain depth, and the grain of the hide stays visible.
The shaft got shorter; the hide did not get thinner. Roughly double normal calfskin, which is what keeps a slim boot looking crisp rather than collapsing.
Same stitched construction as the rest of the range. The sole is the replaceable part; the calfskin is meant to outlast several.

Calfskin from a house tanning in Alsace since 1842, whose SUPORTLO® has been its signature since the 1920s: combination-tanned for durability and flex, full-aniline dyed so nothing covers the pores, fish-oil fatliquored for weight in the hand. Finished at 2.0–2.2 mm where calfskin usually runs 1.0–1.4 mm — and on a boot cut this close to the ankle, that thickness is what stops the shaft going soft at the fold. Vibram, established in 1937, is known as the maker of the "Golden Sole" and has specialized in the development of high-performance rubber compounds for footwear. The TYGUM 705 places rubber at the forepart and heel rather than running a full lug block across the sole — everyday traction with an edge slim enough to keep this boot's proportions intact. Origin: Italy.
From a Tuscan tannery working with chestnut, mimosa and oak bark since 1929. Vegetable tanned leather is stiff for the first weeks and then holds a permanent impression of the foot above it — the one component that genuinely becomes yours rather than merely wearing out. A 2 mm Italian vegetable tanned half footbed sits over it at heel and arch. Origin: Tuscany, Italy.
2 mm of natural wood chips fill the cavity between outsole and insole. They compress unevenly under load, so the bed underfoot ends up recording how you actually walk instead of arriving pre-shaped.
Calfskin through the foot and lower shaft, unlined above. On a 25 cm boot the unlined section is short, but it is still what keeps the top edge soft enough to sit against the leg rather than standing off it.
German reinforcement materials, made by RHENOFLEX since 1952, holding the toe box round and the heel counter upright. A slim boot has less leather to hide behind, so a heel counter that stays square matters more here than on a heavier silhouette. Origin: Germany.
COATS® has made thread in Britain since 1755. The Brio™ Series is specified for leather footwear because it can be drawn repeatedly through the substantial 2.0–2.2 mm calfskin while resisting abrasion and fraying. Thread origin: United Kingdom.
The welt is attached to a rib on the insole, and the outsole is then stitched to the welt. This construction allows a qualified cobbler to replace a worn outsole without dismantling the calfskin upper, provided the upper and welt remain in serviceable condition.
Leather & Details
The shortest shaft and lowest heel in the range create a more level stance and allow a straight trouser or denim hem to fall naturally over the boot. It is a different proportion rather than a reduced version of the taller engineer styles.
The surface wax has been removed, and there is no opaque pigment layer covering the hide. Natural pores, fine grain, and subtle tonal variation remain visible, giving the smaller boot a clear and refined surface.
The VIBRAM® TYGUM 705 uses separate rubber sections at the forepart and heel, leaving the leather waist exposed between them. This construction keeps the welt and sole edge visually narrow beneath the 25 cm shaft.
Fit & Sizing
Boot 35 = sneaker 36, boot 36 = sneaker 37, and the same one-size offset holds all the way to boot 44 = sneaker 45. Order one size below your usual sneaker size.
A 25 cm shaft is quicker to pull on than a 29 cm one, though the instep still has to clear. Thick calfskin is firm from new and softens over the first weeks.

The light brown colorway has a restrained reddish-chestnut tone. Its clear calfskin surface and narrow sole edge pair naturally with lighter trousers and understated office layers.
Separate rubber sections at the forepart and heel leave the leather waist exposed and keep the sole profile narrow. The illustrated pair has a black forepart label; production pairs may receive a yellow or black label at random.
Care & FAQ
A horsehair brush for dust, then a dry cloth. Aniline calf has no pigment layer to hide behind, so gentle and frequent beats hard and occasional.
A de-waxed surface takes cream polish quickly. On a boot this size a little gloss goes a long way — start with far less than you think you need.
The hide is still fish-oil fatliquored. Add a leather-safe conditioner only when it genuinely feels dry — over-conditioning aniline calf darkens it unevenly and permanently.
Removing the surface wax also removes some water resistance. Avoid soaking; if the boots get wet, dry them naturally at room temperature away from direct heat.
